School will be closed for Thanksgiving Recess from Thursday, November 25th, 2021 to Friday, November 26th, 2021. School will resume on Monday, November 29th, 2021.

PS 12 (430 Howard Avenue) will used as a pop up Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine location on Monday, November 8th, 2021 from 7:00AM to 11:00AM for eligible students ages 5-11.

PS 12 Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, November 4th, 2021. All conferences will be virtual.
ALL students will have an early dismissal on Thursday, November 4th, 2021 at 11:20AM.
The NYCDOE will be implementing a strengths-based, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (DESSA) screener in the 2021-2022 school year. The implementation of this SEL screener will begin on Monday, November 8th, 2021. According to the NYCDOE, the DESSA is a strength-based screener, which highlights a student's positive social and emotional strengths and builds from there. As per the NYCDOE, if you do not want a staff member to complete the DESSA screener for your student, you must write a letter to Principal Watson stating that. You may send this letter to Principal Watson at SWatson16@schools.nyc.gov or send in a written letter addressed to Principal Watson. This letter needs to be received by the school by Friday, November 5th, 2021.
The Family Facing DESSA Letter will be sent home to all students today, November 3rd, 2021. The Family Facing DESSA Letter is also attached to this email for your review.

On Tuesday, June 8, 2021, a "Clerical Day for K-5, K-6, 6-8, and K-12 and D 75 school and programs will be held. Students in these schools do not attend.

According to the NYCDOE's Summer Meals page, breakfast and lunch will continue beyond the instructional school year. The Summer Meals Program will be available throughout NYC to anyone ages 18 years old and under. There are designated public schools, community pool centers, parks, and food trucks will be open for service. No registration, documentation, or ID is necessary to receive a free breakfast or lunch meal.
